Palomares Park Electric Vehicle Charger Ribbon Cutting

Pomona Choice Energy is excited to announce the addition of a new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station at Palomares Park, 449 E. Arrow Hwy.

The 19 charging station ports, which were installed on November 17, will provide residents and visitors a convenient location to charge their vehicles while enjoying the recreational amenities at Palomares Park. This project is part of Pomona Choice Energy’s efforts to make sustainable energy options accessible to our residents and to support California’s clean transportation goals.

“Pomona Choice Energy is dedicated to creating a cleaner, greener future,” said Pomona Mayor Tim Sandoval. “By adding more charging stations in convenient community locations, we’re making it easier for residents to adopt electric vehicles and lower greenhouse gas emissions.”

The Palomares Park charging station ports are level 2 J1772/Tesla chargers, which are compatible with most electric vehicle models. The new station is part of a growing network of EV chargers in Pomona, as the City is dedicated to investing in infrastructure that supports both residents and the environment.

The adoption of electric vehicles is an essential part of the statewide plan to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. By expanding access to charging stations, Pomona Choice Energy is tackling one of California’s biggest barriers to EV adoption: the lack of convenient charging locations.

Once it is operational, the Palomares Park EV charging station will be open to the public during park hours. Pomona Choice Energy continues to locate strategic spots for future charging stations as part of its long-term sustainability plan.
